                    Charter
                      Flights from Europe
                    Here is another
strategy that may work for you. Often you can find inexpensive
flights to a European city that makes the possiblity of
getting to Athens at a great fare look promisinig. But once
you start piecing together the rest of the itinerary and
add the other airline fares, taxes and in some cases transport
between airlines and/or overnight in a hotel- what looked
to be a possibility of saving money ended up costing more
                      and became a logistical nightmare.
                    Thomsonfly offers
flights from London's Gatwick Airport(and other airports
in Britain) directly to Santorini, Chania, Heraklion, Samos,
Kos, Rhodes, Skiathos, Kavala, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Preveza,
                      Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Kalamata.
                    The flights are
scheduled during the tourist season(and often are not daily),
so you need to pull down the menu for the departure city
and date. When you pull down the destination city it will
automatically load the cities there are flight to for that
day. If you don't see the city try a a day before or after(there
are usually at least 3 flights a week so something should
show up within a few days of your original departure date).
                    I would check
the flights on the four search engines I have at Finding
Air Tickets and then check the flights at Thomasfly.
Once you have an idea of the rates and itineraries you can
book both sets of flights. I would also consider purchasing
                      travel
                      insurance.

                    If you can't
find low fares to England, try searching for charter flights
out of other European cities. Once you find some other companies
you can then try to find low fares from the US to those
countries and then connect with a charter to your European
                      destination. IMPORTANT:
Keep in mind that if you miss a flight because one of your
flights on a different airline or charter was late, you
could be in a mess. Each airline is only responsible to
get you to and from your destinations that they ticket.
They are not limited to a time frame so you might have to
purchase another ticket if you miss a flight. That could
be VERY expensive. If you are going to connect with two
different airlines then make sure you have plenty of time
between flights to make the connection.
